Three Finalists Named in Northwestern Connecticut Community College President Search
A nationwide, months-long search for a new president of Northwestern Connecticut Community College (NCCC) has been narrowed to three finalists.

Dean of Academic Affairs, Tunxis Community CollegeAll three candidates will be visiting the campuses of Northwestern Connecticut Community College this month. Dr. Douglas will visit Monday, Sept. 28; Dr. Minkler will visit Tuesday, Sept. 29; and Dr. Rooke, will visit Wednesday, Sept. 30. During their visits to Winsted, the candidates will participate in various meetings and events with faculty, students, staff, and community stakeholders.

The presidential search commenced in May 2015, following President Barbara Douglass’s announcement of her retirement effective Oct. 1. The presidential search was conducted by the Regents Search Committee, with the invaluable assistance of the College Advisory Committee.
Following the finalists’ visits, the College Advisory Committee will provide their unranked feedback to the Regents Search Committee. The Regents Search Committee, comprised of six members of the Board of Regents for Higher Education, will then make their final selection, subject to ratification by the full Board of Regents at the Oct. 15 board meeting. The new president will start on Jan. 1, 2016.
