Community College Manufacturing Centers to Host Open Houses

Three new community college manufacturing centers will host open houses throughout the summer.

Three new community college manufacturing centers, established as part of the bipartisan Jobs Bill considered by the legislature and signed by Governor Dannel P. Malloy last year, will host open houses throughout the summer The three new centers – located at Housatonic Community College (Bridgeport), Naugatuck Valley Community College (Waterbury), and Quinebaug Valley Community College (Danielson) – encourage all potential students to attend an open house to learn more about the Manufacturing Machine Technology Certificate programs. These programs will provide participants with essential entry-level and advanced manufacturing skills by combining hands-on instruction, interactive lab experiences, theory, and possible on-site manufacturing internship/apprenticeships. The program is designed to be completed in one year and will assist those seeking employment in high-demand machine technology and CNC manufacturing environments.
